Naan Bread

We use this like tortillas, pita, naan…..all our flatbreads as it turned out to be our favorite.

Mix in small bowl until dissolved:
1/4 c. warm water
1 T. yeast
1 T. sugar/honey

Mix in separate bowl:
1 c. lukewarm water
1/4 plain yogurt or soured milk
1 beaten egg
2 T. oil
2 t. salt

Stir in yeast mixture.

Add enough flour (5 plus cups) to make a soft dough. Knead. Place in greased bowl. Cover with damp cloth. Let rise 1 hr. Separate into large golf ball sized balls. Roll out with rolling pin. Preheat fry pan on stove to medium. Add 1/2 t. butter to pan. Place 1 round at a time in pan. Cook until just browned and puffy. Turn. Repeat. Wrap in towel to keep warm while cooking. I divide these into 3 piles, freeze 2 in bags or they\'re gone in a day!
