Sweet Version:
Stir together…
2 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. oats (rolled or chopped)
1 c. brown sugar
2 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1 c. butter, cut in to pea size

Mix in 1 c. water with fork until it forms a ball. On a floured surface, roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired size and shape (I like 2-inch scalloped circles). Bake at 350º F for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

They\'re delicious on their own or as a sandwich cookie with stewed dates as the filling.

Savoury Version:
2 c. chopped or ground oats
1 c. whole wheat flour
2 t. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1/4 c. cold water

Proceed as above. Serve with cheese or cold meats.
